List of Ubuntu packaged groupware, erp, and crm solutions

I’ve long wanted a good open source groupware/erp (enterprise resource planning)/crm (customer relationship management) product. Unfortunately I have yet to succeed in finding anything that meets the needs of my business. I decided to round up candidates for evaluation, starting with software that is already packaged in Ubuntu and has active development. Here’s what I found.

Viable

• egroupware - http://www.egroupware.org, php, not current (1.2 instead of 1.4)
• kolab - http://www.kolab.org/, kde client and beta web client
• tiny-erp - http://www.tinyerp.org/, python client and server, not current (4.0 instead of 4.2)

Non-viable

• facturalux - non-english
• phpgroupware - defunct
• twig - defunct

Of the projects I’ve listed as viable I’m really not sure if any of them stand out. Web based is probably a good thing. I’ve used phpgroupware which was a precursor to egroupware and egroupware looks like it has become the superior product. Tiny-erp has always looked interesting to me but I’ve never actually tried it. Perhaps starting by evaluating those 2 is the best way to go.
