Third party package repositories for Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon)
When upgrading to a new Ubuntu or Debian release I always find myself cleaning out my list of third party repositories that have accumulated on the system since the last release. However, I’ve already found a few software packages that are not present or not up to date on my system for which I need third party repositories. I’ve decided to compile the list of what I’m using now and update that list as I make changes in the future.
multimedia
deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ gutsy free non-free
deb-src http://packages.medibuntu.org/ gutsy free non-free
From this repository the packages libdvdcss2, w32codecs, w64codecs, and non-free-codecs are available.
tor
deb http://mirror.noreply.org/pub/tor experimental-0.2.0.x-gutsy main
deb-src http://mirror.noreply.org/pub/tor experimental-0.2.0.x-gutsy main
This repository should allow the latest alpha version of tor to be installed. Unfortunately at the time of this writing the tor package from this repository has broken dependencies.
vmware
There is no repository available for vmware packages for Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) at this time. For those upgrading from Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) I’ve read that the old packages will continue to work.
